A guide to LS TB (Republic Offensive)

Published by Boba's on

Geonosis Republic Offensive (or Light Side Geo TB – LSGTB) is Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes most challenging content release to date. It frustrates even the strongest guilds in the game. Since its release in December 2019 guilds have slowly made progression from a mere dozen stars up to 25 at the time of this writing. There seems little question it will be another year or two before any guild can max all of its 36 stars.

This guide aims to be a simple primer on strategies and team compositions to help guilds at all ranges of galactic power and progression in the game. First, it’s important to review this helpful wiki by SWGOH.HELP to learn more about what characters and ships will be required in platoons, what those platoons grant (or take away), and the galactic power requirements for stars in each phase. This will help your guild understand what platoons are possible given your collective progression.

This territory battle requires the utmost effort from your members, and this guide will often encourage different team compositions than you’re using and mod swapping to increase the effectiveness of those teams. We hope you’ll use the info we have gathered from around many of Boba’s 50 different guilds from all around the world to improve and advance at this difficult territory battle. May the Force be with you!

Phase 1

Phase 1 kicks off strongly, and may in fact be one of the most difficult phases of the TB due to the lack of any platoon bonuses. Many guilds will run all or parts of this phase for multiple days to earn the right amount of stars to progress. Below are a list of recommended team compositions and enemies you’ll face in each combat mission and special mission.

Missions

Before you get into the missions I would recommend re-modding the characters so that they get the best possible mods available. This will increase your chance on success big time.

Fleet Mission
Executrix
Xanadu Blood
IG 2000
Hound’s Tooth
Reserves
Sun Fac’s Geonosian Starfighter
Geonosian Soldier’s Starfighter
Geonosian Spy’s Starfighter

Strategy using the team:
Negotiator
Anakin’s ETA-2 Starfighter
Ahsoka Tano’s Jedi Starfighter
Umbaran Starfighter

Reinforcements:
Clone Sergeant ARC-170
Plo Koon’s Jedi Starfighter
Rex’s ARC-170
Strategy
1.First reinforcement is Clone Sergeant’s ARC-170
2.Keep topping up with protection while he taunts
3.Bring in Plo for turn meter and health
4.Don’t worry if you lose JKA
5.Reinforce with Snips and play defensively

Combat missions mid
Elites (One of these will appear in wave 4)

Count Dooku
Nute Gunray
General Grievous
Wat Tambor

Special mission mid
Elite (Wave 3/Wave 4)

T-Series Tactical Droid / Nute Gunray
Command Battle Droid / General Grievous

Combat missions bottom JTR

Elites (One of these will appear in wave 4)

Geonosian Brood Alpha
T-Series Tactical Droid (Increased chance)
General Kalani

Tactics jtr: the start

Make sure BB8 goes first with his first special to start spreading secret intel ASAP.
If possible make C-3PO go second. Make sure you get confusion on magnaguard so he cannot taunt (high potency with potency cross) Prefer to use special and multy attack but zeta is needed for this.
Use R2D2 burning to get a lot of exposes (high crit chance needed). Pray for an expose on geo spy.
If TM on magnaguard is low, reduce TM on B1, if TM magnaguard is high, reduce TM on mangaguard.
Start working on B1 as he cannot be exposed without illuminated destiny or 3PO. Use as much specials as possible to reduce TM on exposed enemies.
Smokescreen on BB8 with R2 next and make sure you have 3 stacks of translation on R2 asap so he can always do a special.
When you are near a phase end, don’t use illuminated destiny. Keep it for the start of a new phase.
You need to make sure the spy does not one-shot you so make sure you got an expose on him and control his TM.

In the next phases:

If you can make JTR take her turn first, daze B2 if he is present.
While B2 is dazed, you can attack other units.
When R2 takes a turn and has to burn everybody: use the ability while targeting B2 so his second attack goes to B2 as well. This way the B2 his TM does not get triggered.
The daze will now be gone so only hit the B2 until he is gone now.
Then work on B1’s while having exposes everywhere

Combat mission bottom JKR
Elite (Wave 3/Wave 4)

T-Series Tactical Droid / General Kalani
Command Battle Droid / Geonosian Brood Alpha

Using team:
JKR, GMY, HMY,Bast,Jolee

Strategy:

Use GMY ability to have extra attacks and extra turns to burn down b2 battalion.

Use JKR mark on Droideka!

Have JKR go after gmy if possible, so you can get b2 down and then mark droideka.

If Spy has stealth he gets 40% offense per buff or debuff on him and whatever toon he attacks. If you cannot dispel stealth, limit the buffs you pass. For example, do not spread buffs with GMY. This should limit his ability to one shot Jolee

Phase 2

Missions

Before you get into the missions I would recommend re-modding the characters so that they get the best possible mods available. This will increase your chance on success big time.

Fleet Mission

Fleet Special Mission
Malevolence

Vulture Droid
HMP Droid Gunship
Vulture Droid
Hyena Bomber
Reserves
Vulture Droid
Vulture Droid

Mid combat mission
Elites (Wave 3 / Wave 4)

B2 Rocket Droid / Count Dooku
Wat Tambor / Nute Gunray
Count Dooku / Wat Tambor
T-Series Tactical Droid (Elite is in Wave 4 only)

Mid combat mission 21k+ GAS + Ahsoka
Elite (Wave 3 / Wave 4)
Command Battle Droid / Count Dooku

Kill Order

  1. Droideka (DDK) units
  2. Sniper units
  3. B2 Super Battle Droid (B2) units
  4. B1 Battle Droid (B1) units

The current recommendation is to go after the highest damage dealers first. Losing buffs isn’t as much as a problem in this mission so the B2 units can often wait.

Mid combat GR 21k+

Elites (Wave 3 / Wave 4)

B2 Rocket Droid / Count Dooku
Wat Tambor / Nute Gunray
Count Dooku / Wat Tambor
T-Series Tactical Droid (Elite is in Wave 4 only)

General Strategy

  1. Kill b2 with multi attacks.
  2. Kill droideka asap.
  3. Save JKA aoe dispel for if droideka has tenacity up ad damage immunity IMO.

Moddiing for this faction is easy. Max health. Snips and JKA should have cd sets with cd triangles, BUT if you do not have health primaries for CD mods (Which you should farm, they are amazing) Health matters most. Health arrows over speed as well.

Mid Combat

Mid Combat

Mid Combat  GR Jedi

Bottom Combat Jedi 21k+

Bottom Special 21k+ KAM

STRATEGY:
1. Kill B2s first.
2. ARC gives Command to Fives.
3. Cleanse Trample on Shaak first. Then on Fives.
4. Attack Reek if Jango has damage immunity.
5. Attack Jango if you have more stacks of trampled than him. Use Rex’s annihilate on him when able, do not waste it on Reek. Make sure Rex has more stacks of trample than Jango!
6. Heal allies as needed with Shaak’s special.
7. Keep whittling them down. Ideally Jango damages Reek with his rocket.
8. Kill Jango via Rex’s 2nd annihilate.
9. Kill Reek.
